About Greenfield, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Greenfield is a central Indiana city with a population of about 20,000 people. The city serves as county seat of Hancock County. Hancock County was formed in 1828. Greenfield is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area and is located about 25 miles west of Indianapolis and about 100 miles south of Fort Wayne.

Individuals visiting Greenfield will find there are a number of exciting things to see and do around the city. The City of Greenfield puts on many community events that draw individuals from all parts of the city and Hancock County. The Greenfield Christmas Festival and Parade of Lights features many beautiful floats and serves as gathering for individuals to collectively celebrate the holiday season. Greenfield is also home to many historical sites. The Riley Home Museum, listed on the National Register of Historical Places, is the birthplace of noted Hoosier poet James Whitcomb Riley. Although Riley was not actually born in the home, he was born in a cabin once located on the property. Greenfield is situated in a climate that experiences cold winters and mild summers. The coldest months of the year in the city tend to be December, January, and February. These months have daytime temperature highs that range from the mid to upper-30s on average. In addition to cold temperatures, snow is also very common during these months. Over the past 30 years, Greenfield has had an average annual snowfall of almost 19 inches. 

Thermostat readings during the warmer months of the year, which tend to be June, July, and August, range from the mid to upper-80s on average. However, record thermostat readings during these months have climbed up to the triple digits. It will be necessary for residents of Greenfield to invest in both heating and cooling systems to remain comfortable during summer months.
