The Town of McCordsville, Indiana is situated in the central portion of the state and is located in Hancock County. The Indianapolis suburb has a population of almost 7,000 people. In 1865, McCordsville was platted. Today, the city is named in honor of the McCord family. The town is located about 20 miles north of Indianapolis, 190 miles southeast of Chicago, Illinois, and about 100 miles southwest of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
